OLIVER SPALDING EPOCH

Brighton boy Oliver Spalding has been quietly working away on some stunning alternative folk records for a while now, but his debut single ‘Epoch’ is the first fully formed record we’ve heard from the 21-year-old talent. The track is taken from his debut EP Unfurl, which is out in November via Monotreme Records. He’s been busy working with Ed Tullett, who has just been on tour with Novo Amor, and the influence can be felt heavily in Spalding’s debut. 'Epoch' is expansive, minimal and static, over which his falsetto drifts and billows with gorgeous close harmonies. File Oliver Spalding next to Bon Iver, RY X and James Blake and enjoy. –HM
